Nicole van Bruggen
Nicole van Bruggen-Harris studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music directly followed by a postgraduate degree in classical clarinet and authentic performance practice with Eric Hoeprich at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague from which she graduated in 1997. She is clarinettist in Kwartet André, OSMOSIS and Trio Van Hengel with whom she recorded a CD entitled 'Anton Eberl - Grande Sonate' under the Belgian label, Ramee in 2006. Alongside these ensembles, Nicole works regularly with a number of period instrument chamber ensembles and orchestras as a specialist in authentic clarinet, basset horn, basset clarinet and chalumeau. Recent highlights include performances as 'artist in residence' in the Festival of Strings and Bows in Poznan, Poland and as soloist with the New Dutch Academy. In the past few concert seasons, Nicole has performed with Concerto Copenhagen (dir. Lars Ulrich Mortensen), New Dutch Academy, Arte dei Suonatori (Poland), Concert d'Amsterdam, Il Fondamento, The Amsterdam String Quartet, The Northern Consort, Ottetto Amsterdam, and Barokopera Amsterdam as well as giving many concerts with Trio Van Hengel and Kwartet André.
